What Is Goldman Actually Getting From the NEOS Deal?

BTCI, launched in October 2024, is the largest with over $1 billion in net assets. XBCI has roughly $111 million and NEHI has over $77 million, according to The Block.

NEOS manages $30 billion across 19 options-based income ETFs in total.

Combined with Goldman’s existing ETF business and its earlier acquisition of Innovator Capital Management, the deal makes Goldman the eighth-largest active ETF provider with $130 billion in global ETF assets.

Why Does the BlackRock Angle Matter?

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas flagged on X that the NEOS deal may explain why Goldman never launched the Bitcoin Premium Income ETF it filed for in April.

BTCI could help Goldman leapfrog BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (NASDAQ:BITA), which launched in June and currently holds about $59 million in net assets, according to The Block.

Goldman has not confirmed whether the NEOS deal changes its plans for the filed fund.

What Happens Next in the Goldman-NEOS Deal?

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

NEOS co-founders Troy Cates and Garrett Paolella will join Goldman Sachs Asset Management as partners, along with the full NEOS investment and client-service team.

Goldman CEO David Solomon called NEOS’ approach “highly complementary” to Goldman’s capabilities across buffer, managed outcome, and income strategies.

Where Does GS Stock Stand Technically?

GS consolidates near $1,038, trading just below its 20-day and 50-day SMAs while holding well above its 100-day and 200-day SMAs, keeping the longer-term trend constructive.

RSI at 48.03 sits neutral with no directional edge.

Key levels for GS

  • $1,077 — resistance where rebounds have stalled
  • $1,003 — nearby support floor
