  • MARA rose 22.4% over the past week, compared with a 24.4% increase for bitcoin.
  • The value of MARA’s 35,577 bitcoin treasury increased by roughly $705 million from June 30, following bitcoin’s close on Friday.
  • Analyst price targets vary widely from $6 to $30, highlighting significant differences in opinion regarding the value of bitcoin and AI infrastructure.

MARA Holdings, Inc. NASDAQ:MARA gained 22.4% over the past week, but still lagged behind bitcoin, which climbed 24.4%. This divergence is rare for the miner, which is frequently seen as a leveraged play on cryptocurrency. As a result, MARA’s capital structure, as well as bitcoin, becomes the main focus in Monday’s session.

The stock finished Friday at $11.26, rising 0.99% for the session. Bitcoin advanced 7.3% to reach $78,335.18. MARA consequently took limited advantage of the latest Friday crypto upswing, following a 15.5% jump on Thursday.

Volume was strong, with roughly 98.9 million MARA shares traded on Friday, exceeding double the stock’s three-month average. The broader cryptocurrency shift came after Treasury bond buyback actions and mounting calls for US digital-asset regulation.

FxPro chief market analyst Alex Kuptsikevich attributed the surge to “a wave of short-covering.” This accounts for the rapid pace, though it leaves the discussion on MARA’s valuation unresolved.
