Friday’s tape in quantum computing reveals how to own the theme. Five pure-play names are rallying together while the sector’s flagship ETF barely registers the move, and that gap matters more than any single price on the board.
Infleqtion (NYSE:INFQ) stock is up 10% to $13.82 in Friday midday trading, leading the pure-play group higher. Meanwhile, Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ:RGTI) stock is climbing 9% to $17.56, riding the same sector bid. Additionally, IonQ (NYSE:IONQ | IONQ Price Prediction) stock is rallying 7% to $44.62 alongside its peers.
D-Wave Quantum (NYSE:QBTS) stock is advancing 7% to $20.06, matching the group move. Notably, Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ:QUBT) stock is rising 7% to $8.75, rounding out the group’s advance.
However, Defiance Quantum ETF (NASDAQ:QTUM) shares are up 0.5% to $149.87, essentially flat against a group-wide bid in the names it holds. So, what’s driving these quantum-computing stocks today?
Sector Rotation Drives the Group Higher
Friday’s move traces to theme rotation across quantum computing. There’s no Friday announcement at Infleqtion, Rigetti Computing, IonQ, D-Wave Quantum, or Quantum Computing Inc. Five separate pure plays rising together between 7% and 10% is the classic signature of a group trade.
