NEW YORK, August 23, 2026, 2:18 p.m. EDT

  • Coinbase climbed 25.6% over the past week, just surpassing Bitcoin’s 24.4% advance.
  • Binance comes under renewed examination following the questioning of two staff members in the UAE.
  • Coinbase ended the session at $186.49, putting the stock just 4.5% below the consensus analyst price target.

Coinbase Global, Inc. NASDAQ:COIN rose 25.6% over the past week, outpacing Bitcoin’s 24.4% increase and well ahead of BNB’s 13.0% gain.

The discrepancy is significant following renewed examination of Binance. Reuters said on Thursday that authorities in the United Arab Emirates questioned two Binance employees regarding external fund transfers. Binance stated the employees were not the focus of an investigation and had been released.

The markets delivered a clear message. Investors were willing to pay a premium for regulated trading access as cryptocurrency prices climbed. Coinbase outperformed Robinhood Markets, Inc. NASDAQ:HOOD, which saw its shares increase by 13.2%.
