Will Bitcoin Price Hit $70K or Fall to $50K Before Clarity Act Decision? CoinGape

Bitcoin price traded near $64,000 today after losing roughly 2% during the past 24 hours.

The crypto market is down -1.37% to $2.19T in 24h, primarily driven by institutional selling pressure on Bitcoin.

The fall put Bitcoin in critical support at $60,000 and resistance near $70,000. The current market value hovered around $1.28 trillion.

Institutional flows, regulatory moves, and geopolitical risks are the next big determinants of the next big price direction that investors are following.

CLARITY Act Decision Expected September 15

The United States Senate could consider a procedural motion involving the CLARITY Act on September 15.

The cloture motion was filed by Senate majority leader John Thune, who postponed further action until September after lawmakers voted no more until then.

The bill needs approximately 60 votes to pass. Instead of passing the legislation at once, it would initiate discussion.

Coingape market predictions

The bill aims to bring about more transparent regulation of cryptocurrencies and stipulates roles between federal regulators.

Nevertheless, the legislators are still torn between ethical provisions, decentralized finance protections and banking issues.

The advancement of September 15 might increase the trust of investors and cryptocurrency business leaders. A subsequent delay might widen uncertainty in the market.

Michael Saylor’s Strategy Sells More Bitcoin

Michael Saylor’s Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin last week for approximately $109 million.

The deal was the fourth week of Bitcoin sales by the company. In the same period, strategy sold 6,916 Bitcoin worth 429.4 million.

Some of the most recent proceeds was used to purchase preferred shares. Common-stock sales also helped the company to increase its cash reserves.

These disposals do not mean that Strategy does not have a significant Bitcoin treasury. Nonetheless, the frequent sales can undermine the mood of those investors who anticipate long-term accumulation of corporations.

Bitcoin ETF Outflows Weaken Demand

On August 10, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced net outflows of $145 million.  According to SoSoValue, Spot Ethereum ETFs also registered about 14.6 million withdrawals.

Sosovalue data

The redemptions followed several positive sessions for cryptocurrency investment products. Further withdrawals may decrease the capability of Bitcoin to regain $70,000.

Nevertheless, new institutional inflows can help to support the level above $60,000 and make another recovery effort.

US-Iran War Adds Geopolitical Uncertainty

President Donald Trump has reportedly stepped back from additional airstrikes against Iran.

Washington is instead relying on sanctions and the naval blockade of Iranian ports. Authorities believe that economic pressure will weaken Tehran and facilitate negotiations.

The strategy can minimize direct military threats. But long-term tensions would alter the avenues of oil and create volatility in the world market.

The increased energy costs may complicate inflation expectations and strain risk assets, such as Bitcoin. The military action would be renewed and this would intensify short term selling.

Bitcoin Price Prediction Ahead of September 15 Clarity Act Decision

BTC price fell to below 64,000 as selling resumed throughout the cryptocurrency market. Ethereum also dropped to below $1,900 in the overall drop.

The recent weakness was caused by macroeconomic uncertainty and leveraged liquidations. Investors are also awaiting important United States inflation reports this week.

To regain short-term momentum, Bitcoin will need to recover above $65,000. This action would put the area of resistance at $68,000 in focus. Bitcoin may hit $70,000 provided it maintains a demand of $60,000 and the demand of the ETFs. CLARITY Act progress would further support that bullish outlook.

However, failure to defend $63,500 could push the price toward $62,000. The larger downside risk begins if Bitcoin loses $60,000. The future Bitcoin price may fall toward $55,000 after losing $60,000. The major psychological support would be revealed as near as $50,000 eventually, due to stronger selling.
